At Sunvera Group, our goal is to enrich lives by empowering doctors and teams to advance in the evolving landscape of eye care. The values we display in our daily work are what allow us to be successful in achieving this mission.
Each quarter, we select one stand-out team member throughout the Sunvera network to receive the United in Our Vision Award. Recipients of the award are those who consistently demonstrate Sunvera’s core values: people first, pursuit of excellence, and success in teamwork. This quarter, team members across the organization were asked to nominate someone that displayed the value of the “Put People First”. This value is defined as someone who is always service-minded, respectful, empathetic and embraces the diversity of our patients and colleagues. They are truthful and act with integrity, creating a safe and ethical environment for all.
Out of 300+ team members throughout Sunvera, there were 21 nominations, who were then scored by our panel of judges to bring us to our Top 5. We are thrilled to honor two team members who were tied for the first place ranking, Ayisia Blair of Ophthalmic Specialists of Michigan and Kathrina Harper of Michigan Oculofacial Specialists. Both nominations truly stood out demonstrating their commitment to always “Put People First”.
Here are just some of the comments Ayisia and Kathrina’s fellow team members had to say about them.
“Ayisia is always putting patients first! She calls patients that are scheduled to come back for first time injections to make sure they understand their condition and plan of care. Most of these patients are a nervous wreck and dread coming back but by the time Ayisia is done speaking with them they are no longer nervous. I believe this has helped immensely with patients returning and ensures patients are receiving the care that they need.”

“Kathrina goes above and beyond in everything she does. When our practice was transitioning to Sunvera she was constantly making sure that all of our team members were taken care of. She was making sure that everyone had the benefits they needed and anything else that would make the process as smooth as possible. When working with patients she is caring, sincere, and makes sure that the patients understand everything before they leave our office.”
We are honored and grateful to work alongside Ayisia and Kathrina and present them with this award as they continues to demonstrate excellence and inspire others.

The United in our Vision Awards were created to identify and honor the team members across our organization who truly and consistently demonstrate the values and behaviors that help us to achieve our mission.

The United in our Vision award is a quarterly award. Team members throughout Sunvera Group and our partner practices submit nominations which are reviewed by a panel made up of members of the the Sunvera leadership team who then narrow it down to one winner for the entire Sunvera network.
