At Sunvera Group, our goal is to enrich lives by empowering doctors and teams to advance in the evolving landscape of eye care. The values we display in our daily work are what allow us to be successful in achieving this mission.
Each quarter, we select one stand-out team member throughout the Sunvera network to receive the United in Our Vision Award.
Recipients of the award are those who consistently demonstrate Sunvera’s core values: Put People First, Together we Succeed, and Pursuit of Excellence. This quarter, team members across the organization were asked to nominate a colleague and select one of the three values that best align with the nominee’s strengths and behaviors.
Out of 500+ team members throughout Sunvera, there were 18 nominations, who were then scored by our panel of judges to bring us to our Top 5. We are thrilled to honor Melissa Beltempo, at Zimm Cataract & Laser Center for her commitment to Putting People First!

Melissa Beltempo is an exceptional member of our clinical team. Time and again, she has proven herself as not just an employee, but a cornerstone of our practice. When I’m told someone on the phone wishes to “speak to the manager”, I usually brace myself for a complaint. Yet, to my delight, several of these calls are from patients wishing to sing praises for Melissa.
Having joined us just over a year ago, Melissa swiftly made an inerasable mark on our clinical staff. As a team lead and Clinical Coordinator, she seamlessly integrates superior patient care with efficiently overseeing and mentoring other technicians. Whether it’s a face-to-face interaction, handling prior authorization requests, or any task in between, Melissa handles each with remarkable thoroughness and attention to detail. Her dedication knows no bounds – starting early or finishing late, she ensures each patient receives the unparalleled care they deserve.
The accolades for Melissa don’t stop at internal admiration. Multiple patients have gone out of their way to recognize her exceptional skills and commitment:

A heartfelt card addressed to her read, “Melissa B. is a standout employee. She helped appeal an insurance denial for my medication, showcasing customer service that truly warrants recognition.”
Another note from a grateful patient said, “Melissa, thank you for helping with my insurance denial. It’s rare to find someone who goes the extra mile like you do. You are appreciated.”
Such great recognition from patients is not just exceptional but serves as a testament to Melissa’s commitment to putting people first. Every once in a while, a team member emerges who is so vital that we can’t imagine our practice without them. Melissa Beltempo is that individual.
